Apara Mehta
Apara Mehta is an Indian Television and theatre actress. She is well known for her role of Savita Chachi in Balaji Telefilms’ mega serial “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” on Star Plus.
She was born in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, to Ushakant Mehta and Mandakini Mehta. Her mother was a Gujarati theatre artist and her father was the owner of a restaurant in Bhavnagar.
Apara started her acting career with a Gujarati play called Tan Man Dhan in 1981. In 1996, she acted with Paresh Rawal in a play called Maharathi. She became popular with the 1997 serial Sapna Na Vaavetar (Gujarati) and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka (Hindi).
In 2000, she was approached by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and was offered a role in the serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus which made her famous.
